Creating a clipping group

Open a new document. The settings of it are of your choice. The larger the canvas size, the better.

Get a nice picture of a bird. I have selected a picture of a parrot for the task.

Open it and then select the magnetic lasso tool from the tool box.

Select the very picture of the parrot using the magnetic lasso tool without its background. It is important to select it neatly and appropriately.

As the parrot is selected, go to select -> inverse.

Now the background is selected neatly, and then press the delete button in the key board to delete the background.

Now get to the new document you created and type B using the type tool in the tool box. Select it using the type tool and then click on the font size box which is circled in red. Then press the up arrow key in the key board until the text fits the canvas.

Move the parrot to the text document using the move tool from the tool box.

It is time for the most important part of our task. Select the parrot layer in the Layer palette. [If you don’t have a Layer palette in your working space you can get it from the Window menu in the menu bar.] Then hold down Alt, position the mouse pointer over the dividing two layers [the parrot layer and the text layer] and click [the mouse pointer changes to two overlapping circles.]

Move the parrot to the right position to fit into the text perfectly. Then type the balance letters ‘irds’.

There you are!!! You have created a clipping group of your own. This is the out put you will get.
